Hours in car: 2

Parking spots backed into straight and centred: 3
Successful merges into highway traffic: 1
Times I scared the instructor: 0
Today's lesson started with a one-lane slalom session through a construction zone with raised manholes and a blind turn. Shortly thereafter I was backing up through the craziest parking lot in the city. Later, I was driving in the busiest traffic I have ever driven in (and missing my power windows desperately). AND I DID ALL OF IT!
The instructor's car is laid out very, very similarly to mine, which is great! The only significant difference is the location of the parking brake. The rest of the layout of the dash and controls is almost identical.
The instructor says I'm nowhere near as bad as I think I am, and he's seen much worse. He says I have good control over steering and braking, and I'm good at signaling. He also says that if I practice enough, having my driver's licence by the end of August is quite feasible. Since he's my former math teacher, the man knows probability.
I'm pumped, people! My heart was beating a thousand beats a minute and I'm sure I forgot to breathe a few times, but I'm actually doing it! I'm driving! ME!!!
