Lucking out ...

A number of teachers at school have a book club. In theory, I have been a member of this book club for a couple of years, but I rarely get the books read in time, and I've only made it to one meeting.

One of my New Year's resolutions this year was to become an active (rather than phantom) member of this book club. Unfortunately, my finances this month have been really tight, and so I couldn't buy the book.

Imagine my glee when my friend Evan (who happened to be reading the same book on his own) generously loaned me his copy!

I have about 48 hours to get it read. I'm a former English Literature major -- I can probably handle it.
