Maybe Hubby ought to start reading my blog and taking notes. *grin*
In all seriousness, though -- I have a tendency to get myself all hunkered down in the dumps. Part of it is biological, and the rest of it is just habitual. So here is a list for me (and Hubby?) to look at to haul myself out.
1. Create something. Anything.
2. Make a peanut butter and jam sandwich, my favourite since age three.
3. Add Canadian spellings to my spell check.
4. Give me a mixed media magazine with lots of beautiful, bright colourful "messes" in it.
5. Put on some Duran Duran -- loud.
6. Fill up the tank and let me drive aimlessly, just seeing where I wind up and what adventures I have along the way. (Yes, it's bad for the environment, but I got my licence twenty years after most people, so hey. I've already conserved.)
7. Snuggle with my sleepy puppy or the purring kitties.
8. Unlimited supply of Diet Pepsi.
9. A nice, long nap under ten quilts.
10. A trip on the water on a ferry.
11. Scrapbooking and lots of it.
12. A good book. And time to read it.
13. A classroom of students who enjoy learning and interacting with each other and me.
14. Colin Firth. ('Nuff said.)
15. A nice meal at a restaurant that doesn't necessarily have to be fancy, but doesn't serve McAnything.
16. Several hours uninterrupted playing The Sims 2, CivCity Rome, or Civilization. Seriously.
17. Handmade anything from anyone I know. I love it when people put a part of themselves into something and then share it.
18. Wrestle with me. (Can I still be a tomboy at age 37? Is that allowed?)
19. Set me loose with my camera for a few hours.
20. Flowers. Real ones. All different colours and kinds.
21. Spring. (Okay, hard to arrange on demand, but it makes me really happy.)
22. Time with my husband.
23. Time with my sisters and niece.
24. A walk in the woods or along the beach (as long as I'm not too cold.)
25. Send me shopping for books, stationery, or craft supplies, and let me come home with a few treasures.
