And a very good 2008 to all of you out there!
We rang it in the same way we have for the past few years. It would seem our tradition involves me watching the festivities in Halifax on the TV in the bedroom and waking up Hubby when there's one minute to go. As the new year begins we have our "Happy New Year" kiss. Then he rolls over and goes back to sleep, and I watch Law and Order. I guess we're officially "oldly-weds" now. *grin*
Do I have resolutions this year? Well, sort of. I have a list of 101 Things to Do in 1001 Days, and my time is up at the end of next January. So I'm just going to keep working away at that list and see how many things I can cross off between now and then.
And for those of you following my weight loss journey, I am officially restarting as of today. As of today, I am nearly forty pounds lighter than I was on August 1, 2005. (I had seventy pounds off at one point, but 2006 wasn't kind.) So starting today, we are setting our sights on the healthy weight goal again, and we're moving full steam ahead!
The weather report: We just got somewhere between 20 and 30 cm of snow yesterday, and now they're calling for another 15-20 cm tonight. You know, I'm starting to take this personally. But somehow, once the calendar changes, I can see spring so much more clearly. (All poor Hubby can see is the snow shovel.) Right now it's nice and sunny. Maybe I'll take Piper up to the Park while I can.
The house is coming along -- not as quickly as I'd hoped, but it is definitely better than it was. I spent all of yesterday organizing my computer back-ups, so I didn't accomplish much in the real world. I'm now thinking it's just as well, because today is garbage day but no one seems to have put it out (or else the trucks have already gone by). My garbage storage area is already overflowing with the results of my decluttering. If I'd worked on it yesterday, we'd have no place to live!
Okay, time to get this 2008 show on the road! Leave me a comment and let me know you were here!
