fellow travellers
like a transcontinental train
on a minute-by-minute schedule
year after year
the earth makes her way
around the sun
at different points along the way
new passengers board
others detrain
every so often
we get new seatmates
make new friends
make new enemies
fall in love
have our hearts broken
all the while never really knowing
when the Conductor
will tap our shoulder
to tell us
it's our stop.

Oooo, I LIKE it.
Gave me goosebumps!
Whoooo! Great job! Just great!
Spring? Oh, good. I can hardly wait! Zero degrees here...not nice.
loved, loved, loved it!!!!
now that was lovely! I can never keep my eyes open on a train! Who knows who my fellow travelers might have been! When the guard ( sorry - conductor!) taps me on the shoulder its usually to tell me I missed my stop!
