(1993 - 2008)
After a brief period of declining health, Stormy the Cat passed away on the morning of Sunday, February 17, 2008. She was fourteen years old.
Born somewhere in the Saint John, NB area in October of 1993, Stormy was picked up as a stray by the Saint John Animal Rescue League in January of 1994. On February 8, 1994, (a stormy day after which she was named), she was adopted by Karen (Kraglund) McLean, with whom she would live the rest of her life.
Stormy's interests included licking plastic bags, attacking folds in the bedding, begging that more food be added to her already-full dish, demanding whatever the humans took out of the fridge, chasing the "red dot" of the laser pointer, rolling in catnip, and chomping down on tuna. Her morning routines consisted of standing on Karen and licking her eyelids until she got up and "got with the treat program", and then snuggling Karen at the computer. Although she was not fond of other animals, including new additions to the household until much time had passed, Stormy was a loving and gentle soul whose very loud purr made her humans dream of motorboats and chainsaws on more than one occasion.
Predeceased by her adopted sister, Pepsi the Dog, and numerous small pets (none of whom she harassed), Stormy leaves behind her mom, Karen; her dad, Doug; her adopted brother Zaphod Beeblebrox the Cat; and her adopted sister, Piper the Puppy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Saint John Animal Rescue League, or the animal charity of the donor's choice.

As I read your memoriam, I could feel Stormy snuggling up as she did each time I visited. I will miss that beautiful purry personality. I am sending my thoughts your way!

Noooooooooooo! This is sooooo sad. I hate cats and this one was the only cat i think i've ever tolerated. Don't know why, would hiss at me for taking my jacket back, stole the meat out of my hamburger or would just purr for me on the phone. ouch, this isn't good.....
So sorry :(
Ahhh, Karen. I'm so sorry to hear about Stormy. (((HUGS)))
I'm sorry! It's hard to make that decision, too. Even when it's the right one.
