Today was the first time Piper accompanied Hubby and me to the beach. It was our first time this year -- Hubby looking for driftwood, and me just breathing in the sea air and picking up the occasional piece of beach glass.
We weren't quite sure how she was going to react. Generally, Piper is timid about new things. It takes her a bit to try them out.
We should have known better. Piper had a total blast!
Since Hubby was off looking for driftwood on one side of a small tidal stream, and I was on the other, Piper wasn't quite sure what to do, or who she should stay with. She ultimately decided to be diplomatic -- and ran back and forth between us as fast and as much as caninely possible.
Even when her daddy tried to trick her, by throwing a (non-floating) stick into the small stream, Piper had no qualms about going after it. We needn't have worried. I think she's a serious water dog.
The rest of her day was canine bliss. We played fetch in the backyard, then we went to the Bark Park. From two o'clock this afternoon until six o'clock this evening, Piper did nothing but run and play with her humans. She's now flaked out on the floor, and I think she might be smiling.

Dogs LOVE the beach. Even my silky Yorkshire terrier...we took him to Hirtles Beach last summer on a windy day and he got sandblasted and salty and had a huge grin the entire time.
