So, I headed up to River Gallery to see Sande, to show her the rug and to see if she had any of the blue I was using in the lower right. (The wool I had run out of.) It turned out she did -- three strips of it! Whew! Thanks, Sande!
I decided against putting a row of darker loops around the whole thing, because, as Sande explained, when I actually do the finishing of the rug (the edging, et cetera), I can whipstitch in a darker colour and get the same effect. So that's what I'll do. (Later, of course.)
Since I couldn't leave with just three strips of wool -- must accumulate stash! -- I picked up some more colours for my next rug. I think it'll be kind of a "doodle rug", with me just playing.
I think before I do much of anything else, hooking-wise, I should probably make a cover for my frame so that I can carry it around without fatally puncturing anyone in my immediate vicinity.
(And I thought my late hedgehog was sharp!)
