Morning has broken.

Wow -- so much for sleeping in. I woke up at 5:30 AM, and by 6:00, I was up of my own accord. Zaph is happy because a) he got his treats early, b) he has some quiet time with me, and c) he gets to sit in my office window and watch the birds without all of the traffic to scare them away.

Would you believe that wonderful hubby of mine had my new Palm flown in so that I was only without handheld technology for 48 hours? Honestly, I'm not sure exactly what I did to deserve this man. Was it the time I helped the little old lady cross at the top of King Street? I don't know, but whatever it was, I'm very glad I did it! *grin*

I've got a lot to do this weekend, but no real structure as to what has to be done when, and that gives me a little breathing room.

I have realized two things about the stats course. First of all, it is within my power to do well in it, and secondly, I'm going to have to work very, very hard in order to understand it. My brain just doesn't naturally work that way, so it takes a long time to get stuff to sink in. One thing is for certain: I'm far more focused than I was the first time I attempted a Stats course, way back in 1988. That alone should make a huge difference. More and more, I've come to believe that the whole university experience shouldn't even be attempted until one is in his/her mid-20s. Get the "growing up" stuff out of the way first.

Again, that's just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

A man just walked by with four identically-coloured dogs, of varying sizes, all trotting along in a well-coordinated group. I've seen him before -- he's a regular fixture on my street -- and it's always been just three dogs. The tiny puppy bringing up the rear is a new addition, I think.

I love the little things.
