Looking for Land in All the Wrong Places

It was quite the adventure.

Hubby saw online that there was a piece of land for sale in the middle of nowhere. Just for the heck of it, he decided to go check it out, and Piper and I went along for the ride. And when I say "the middle of nowhere", it's pretty accurate. It took three gravel roads to get there!

After navigating with the help of three maps (including the main one which happened to have the wrong name on the very road we were looking for), we finally found the right place (we think -- there was no sign).

So we got out of the car to check it out. As soon as we did, I spotted a little rabbit making a break for the woods. (Piper didn't see it, which is probably a good thing all the way around.)

The plot of land didn't seem anywhere near as deep as it should have been, according to the information we had, and the brook was rather unimpressive, but it was fun looking for it anyway. And, once again, I got to astound Hubby with my knowledge of the back roads of southern New Brunswick. (Even more impressive when you consider that I only got my driver's license a little under three years ago.)

As we began our trek back to civilization, we went over the same brook just a little further downstream. To me, this picture is the epitome of tranquility and worth every speck of dust we kicked up along the way.

The funniest part of the adventure? For a kilometre or so, we had an all-terrain cycle speeding along behind us, popping wheelies every so often. Piper HATED it and went into all-out canine cacophony, her head pressed against the back windshield. Finally he turned onto a side road and disappeared. If dogs can be smug, Piper was the poster dog. She probably thought she'd scared him away!

It was a fun couple of hours, and wonderful to get out of the house for a bit. I definitely needed that!
