Christmas was good, and it's been a nonstop happy dance since. My sister Krista and her family came up today to watch the Sea Dogs play against the Halifax Mooseheads, and aside from the fact that Halifax won, we had a good time. *grin* This was after a great family meal at a local restaurant which included exchanging of gifts.
Everything was great until Hubby and I pulled out of the parking spot after the hockey game. The front right tire was making a really weird noise. Hubby tried backing up and going forward again, to see if it was a rock or chunk of ice, but it kept making noise.
He checked it out, but the tire looked fine; he couldn't see anything wrong with it. So we started to go again.
The noise kept up. "This sounds bad," he said, and we turned the corner. "I smell something," was about all I got out before two more clunks, a loud BANG, and the front right corner of the car smacking down.
"It's flat now," Hubby announced upon a quick inspection.
So he got the jack out of the trunk and got the old tire off. As he looked at the inner side of the tire, he let out a loud "whoa!" The tire looked like it had been sliced open all the way around the inside. The culprit? A broken spring.
Now his car is sitting at the shop, Hubby's lying down, and I'm still shaking my head.
This was our second tow truck this week. Do you think we can get frequent flyer miles?
