Sunny Sunday

Yesterday was a great day for geocaching! I went down to Calais with some caching friends, and the highlight of the trip for me (besides finding Chubby Hubby ice cream!!!) was logging my first international cache!

One of the guys on the trip loaned me his snowshoes, so when I got home, I set out to move my latest puzzle cache. The listing had been rejected because it was too close to another cache by 22 m. Well, the showshoeing went well, until I lost a strap on one of them, and then it fell off going up a slope, and I somehow tripped and did a face plant! Geocaching is really good for me because it gets me outside in the winter months, but somehow I don't think I'm ever really going to be a winter outdoors enthusiast. *grin*

The cache has been moved, though, so it was published last night. After another little snag (the puzzle I based my puzzle on had an error, so it was looking like the coordinates were putting you out in the Bay of Fundy), it's now up and running correctly.

From my window, I can see if people are looking for it. The First To Find has already been there, signed the book, and logged it online. Now I'm just watching to see if any others make their way up there through the snow.

In the interest of fairness, I simultaneously emailed all those who emailed me last night to tell me about the error, to let them know that the cache was fixed and up and running again. One of the local ISPs is having trouble with its email service, though, so I don't know if they all got them. Still, if they check the cache page regularly, they would have seen that it's back. I feel badly about the error, but I've probably done everything I could do to fix it and be fair about it. (The FTF said he checked the page online, and didn't get the email until he got back.)

So now I'm torn. It's a beautiful day out there, and someone has asked me to go caching, but I want to sit here and watch my hill. What to do ... what to do?

I think I'll cover something in camo duct tape while I think about it. *grin*
