Rug Progress

Well, I finally got back to hooking last night. It had been almost a week!

I finished hooking the last tulip a few minutes ago, and I really like the way it's coming along. I'm not super-keen on one of the green tulips, but I won't decide for sure until I get the background hooked. The background will change the way the colour is perceived, but right now it looks a little "bottom-heavy" to me.

I also did quite a bit of stripping this week. (I just love how that sounds alongside "hooking".) Cutting wool into strips is much dustier work than I ever would have thought. I think next time I do it, I'll do it outside, and let the wind blow away the dust. I do love cutting the wool, though -- it's somehow meditative. I cut up about four fat quarters, I think, so that should do for a bit!

Knowing me, I'll get started on the background tonight -- once I start hooking, I can't seem to stop. I'm anxious to see how it's going to look all together. Right now, though, I think I'm going to go lie down. I was talking with another teacher yesterday and she said that it sounds like I'm suffering from what they call "silent migraines". The symptoms certainly seem to match, anyway.

I'm so glad it's the weekend. The groceries have been bought and put away, Piper is taking a nap, and I don't have to worry about the phone ringing at 7 AM until at least Tuesday.

I'm in my happy place.
