Fetch to the Max

Our backyard is quite "rustic", and for as long as we have lived here, there have been groundhogs living there. Each spring we see little baby groundhogs exploring around the hole, and it's one of the things to which we look forward.

Well, this year, Mama Groundhog has been doing some renovating. The den now has THREE entrances, all of which are fairly large. Given that this is the area where we play fetch with Piper, we have lost no less than six balls down into the groundhog hole.

Well, Piper has decided she's had enough: she wants her tennis balls back.
No luck as yet, but as the pile of balls grows in the den, I'm sure Mama Groundhog will start tossing them out before too long.
