Each morning for the past three days, I have had the same routine: sit down at the computer and check out StormPulse to see the latest track forecast for Hurricane Earl.
Well, today's forecast made me blink a few times. Looks like Earl is coming to visit us on Saturday, and it's likely he'll still be at hurricane strength -- definitely a switch from the piddly post-tropical storm remnants we're used to getting around here.
So I'm making up a list of things we should have ready, in case we lose power for a day or two, and trying to steel myself for the possibility of not being able to connect to the Internet. (I'm shaking already.) And ... oh no! No Sims 2 either!
I wonder if someone on freecycle has a generator...

LOLOLOL I am BARELY on the cone of uncertainty at the moment although one little bobble and he will be back on top of me; Ive watched all week while he inched away from us! Unfortunately that means we are on the WIND side, while the other side of NB gets the RAIN side. SIGH I hate wind.
Good day Karen!!!
Water, propane, batteries and a good supply of books should do it!! We were without power for 5 days after Juan and for 2 or 3 after White Juan. Batten down the hatches baby!!! Be safe!
The more often I look at StormPulse now, the more interesting it gets. The meteorologist on CBC said now that it was likely to make landfall on New River Beach, but a few minutes later, I looked at StormPulse and then it was north of SJ.
Not so much we can do up here ... emptying the balcony, buy stuff like water and so on... The landlord has put up messages in the elevators.
I'll make sure my cellphone is fully charged so I can go online and at least check my mail ... that will keep the tremor at bay a little :o)
