Gothic Arches: Handwriting

Today's challenge at Gothic Arches was to create a piece that features your own handwriting. I decided to dust off my tablet and get some much-needed practice in writing with it.

This piece was created entirely digitally, from the pictures taken with my digital camera to using the tablet to include the handwriting. (I think I need more practice, but I'm still pretty pleased with how this turned out.)

(I'm going to try to get in as many creative challenges this week as possible. I've been feeling kind of blah and creating things usually helps to perk me up.)

Gothic Arches: Asian

Today's theme over at Gothic Arches is Asian.

At first, I wasn't really sure what I was going to do, and then I stumbled across the image of the two women in a CD I purchased from Lisa Vollrath/Ten Two Studios. The expressions on their faces really spoke to me.

The Kanji in the background reads "Courage, honour, peace", simply repeated as a pattern.

Just doing my morning computer routine and have discovered that the Gothic Arch I made last week has been featured in their sampler!

I am puffed up with pride! *grin*

Gothic Arches - "Heritage"

I decided to take a peek at what the challenge theme was for this week over at Gothic Arches.

When I saw that it was "Heritage", I had a dilemma. Since I'm half-Viking (Kraglunds are from Denmark) and half-Celt (Irish and Maclean on the other side, as well as Maclean by marriage), I wasn't sure which way to go.

Ultimately, the Macleans won out. I'm such a sucker for the red dress tartan and the castle. The fact that I found the map was an added bonus.

This is my first time playing on that challenge site, and I'm not sure if digital collage "counts", exactly, but I'm happy with this little piece of work.

And Hubby, who walked in, looked at it, and pronounced it "Cool", liked it too.
