So, today's a busy day for me. I have a driving lesson from 10:00 AM to 12 noon, then this afternoon my friend's husband picks me up and I head off to Truro for a Stampin' Up! mini convention. I'm trying to squeeze a load of laundry in there somewhere because when I went to pack, I discovered I had nothing to wear.
So, what's my first conscious thought this morning?
"Oh, no -- it's my monthly migraine."
Migraines for me show up once a month, within a three-day range. Sometimes, if I catch them early enough, I can head them off with Advil Migraine. (That's just what works for me. Your mileage may vary.) But often, if they get beyond a certain point, I just have to suffer through it. Blinding pain, sensitivity to light and noise, nausea, and the inability to see straight are just a few of the things I experience.
Did I mention my driving instructor is coming in about an hour?
I can't cancel. It's too late, and I want to get this thing done. I cancelled/postponed the last lesson due to circumstances beyond my control, and I don't want to cancel this one. But it would be nice if I could see without the "little blurry pockets" that move around between my brain and what I'm trying to look at.
Okay -- I'm not going to get stressed about this. It's bad enough that I had a scary experience driving the night before last -- I'm already rattled enough. Sitting here freaking about whether or not the Advil will catch this one before it explodes on me will just increase the chances that I'll be in trouble.
