One of the things I really love about rughooking is what got me interested in it in the first place: looking at some of the amazing pieces of artwork that people are creating.
This past week many of the rughooking blogs I read featured posts from/about Sauder Village which is a yearly rughooking gathering in Ohio (I believe).
Gene Shepherd is a rughooker extraordinaire. His book, The Rug Hooker's Bible, is my go-to resource when I have a question about how to do something, and he updates his blog on a regular basis. (Unlike, say, me. *grin*)
Well, this week Gene went to Sauder and his blog is one great big treasure trove of rughooking beauty. I just look at all the pictures and droooool. I love the diversity in styles and colours between artists (and rugs). Some are simple, like mine, and some are meticulously detailed.
Even if you're not a hooker, take a look at these works of art on Gene's blog. (Clicking the pictures will open higher-resolution versions so you can see the detail.) There are so many beautiful things out there in this world, and these are just a few of them.
