Day 10.

Hi.

Yeah, it's been a while.

So where have I been?  Nowhere exciting, I'm afraid.  Hubby and I have been dealing with swine flu since last week.  It soon led to complications for both of us -- throat infections, ear infections, bronchitis, and, in my case, pneumonia.

Aside from six hours in an emergency waiting room at the hospital Saturday night/Sunday morning, today was the first time I was outside the house since Monday, November 9.  I had to go to the bank and since it was next door to City Hall where I had to get a criminal record check for a new job, I went and got that done too.  Then I got gas for the car, picked up a copy of Artful Blogging at Michaels, went to A&W, and came home -- feeling like I'd run a marathon.  I was too exhausted to make it through the drive-thru at Starbucks!  I can't believe that just 90 minutes of errands made me collapse back into bed for three hours.

I can't remember ever being this sick, or wiped out.  Ever.  And Hubby, poor soul, is saying the same thing, in between coughing fits.  This one's a doozy, folks.  But I had to chuckle in the elevator at City Hall, though, when the man joining me in the car stopped to use a hand sanitizer dispenser and I realized I hadn't.  What's gonna happen? I asked myself.  Am I gonna get swine flu?! And I snickered --  feeling oddly immortal for a brief, beautiful moment.

I'm behind in chemistry class, but I was talking with my professor today, and not only is she incredibly understanding, but she's confident that I'll have no problem getting caught up.  That's reassuring.  I've been doing so well that I don't want to lose it now.  Thank heavens I'm only taking the one course.

Well, I'm going back to Artful Blogging now.    It's so nice to have pretty things to look at after staring at the same walls for ten days.  Awesome magazine  -- with the added benefit of reminding me that I hadn't posted in my own blog in a week! :)

Take care.  And eat bacon.
