When I was a toddler, my parents took me to a New Brunswick provincial park in an area called Mactaquac. I thought for sure there would be ducks, with a name like that. Now here I am, thirty-some years later, in a two-day training session for work. The training is both interesting and relevant, but because I was on the road literally before dawn this morning (home is 90 minutes away), I'm getting a little sleepy!Fresh territory, of course, means fresh geocaching country. I had scouted the area on Geocaching.com as soon as I found out we were coming here, and a little while ago I went out to find a cache. It was along a pretty little nature trail on the grounds of the training centre/resort I'm calling home for two days, and I was delighted to find a few patches of wild purple violets (my province's official flower). The batteries in my GPS have died, though, so if I want to go for any more caches, I'll need to find some new ones. Frankly all I want to do right now is take a nap!
No regrets about the early morning, though! My Saint John Sea Dogs did not disappoint me last night, leading Moncton 5-1 for a good portion of the game. Moncton battled back, and it all came down to a nail-biter in the last three minutes. When it was 5-4, Moncton pulled their goalie in an attempt to tie it up, but our MVP Mike Hoffman scored an empty-net goal. Gotta love those! Final score was 6-4. I was so relieved to see the boys back and playing the game that I was pretty much delirious with joy!
And that's all the news from here right now. Hope your day went as well as mine. :)
